Postponement Announcement: Letter from Our Convener

Dear Delegates, Partners, and Stakeholders,

I would like to inform you that Reimagine Africa Conference 2024 has been postponed. This decision was not taken lightly, and I would like to share the key reasons behind it.

Initially, we selected our dates following extensive consultations with key stakeholders, including secondary schools, given their alignment with our theme, ‘Generation Africa: Redefining Global Narratives and Opportunities’. At the time, the chosen dates coincided with the mid-term break period for most schools, allowing students, staff, and parents the chance to participate fully. However, changes to the academic calendar have since impacted scheduling, limiting the availability of many anticipated participants.

Secondly, our sensitisation efforts have only recently started to gain momentum, and we believe that additional time will allow other stakeholders to effectively prepare and engage with the conference.

Lastly, we have received interest from significant new partners in recent days. To truly leverage these opportunities, we feel it’s essential to adjust the timing to optimise their involvement and contributions to the event.

Since 2016, we have built a reputation for reliability, having never postponed a conference. However, after careful reflection, we believe this decision is necessary to uphold our commitment to excellence and deliver an impactful event for everyone involved.

We recognise the inconvenience this may cause and sincerely apologise. I have personally reached out to our out-of-town delegates who have already made travel arrangements to address their immediate concerns.

In the coming days, we will hold a series of engagements with stakeholders to determine a new date that works best for everyone.

We remain dedicated to delivering a world-class conference as we continue our mission to Reimagine Africa.

Thank you for your understanding, commitment, and support. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. Wishing you all the very best and a great weekend.

Warm regards,

Bereni Dinma-Fiberesima
