Hackathon
A hackathon is an event where individuals collaborate intensively over a short period, typically ranging from a day to a week, to develop innovative solutions to specific challenges. Participants, often from diverse backgrounds, work together to create prototypes or proofs of concept, fostering creativity and rapid problem-solving.
The hackathon is a key part of our annual event, bringing together young innovators to develop digital solutions that address Africa’s most pressing challenges.
Hackathons have been instrumental in creating groundbreaking technologies, such as the Facebook Like button and Eazi Taxi, underscoring their significance in today’s world. We have integrated this as a central part of our conference to inspire and empower the next generation of African leaders.
At the end of the session, the teams will pitch their projects at the Demo Day event during the conference, in the presence of investors, industry leaders, policymakers, and academic institutions. This platform offers an opportunity to further actualize their products and gain valuable insights, partnerships, adoption, and funding opportunities.
